ZOOM YOGA FAQ

  • You don’t need to attend class live on Friday mornings. Everyone gets an email with the class recording after class ends. This recording is available for you to practice with for a full week, so you can take class when it works for you (even multiple times if you like!). Our little sangha includes folks in multiple time zones and with differing schedules, so while we all practice together, we don’t all practice at the same time!

  • While I of course love to see everyone, you are welcome to turn your camera on or off as you like throughout our time together. My settings are configured so that you will not be recorded before, during, or after class. Additionally, everyone is kept on mute until I stop recording at the end of practice. This preserves our quiet and contemplative practice space. After class ends and I stop recording, I invite you to stay on if you like to share insights, questions, or a quick hello.

  • Of course! You can share a single device if you’re together in the same space. I do ask that everyone who attends class be registered for the class (I can always add folks afterward, so don’t worry if you don’t get them signed up beforehand).

  • Yoga props are wonderful tools to enhance our practice. I frequently use a blanket, yoga strap, bolster, and blocks when teaching. I sometimes suggest movements we can take at a wall or with a chair, as well. But if you don’t have these things, no worries. I’ll offer modifications and/or you can use substitutes from around the home (think couch cushions, dog leashes, books, etc).

  • Yes. In my public Zoom classes, I teach from my mat and am moving through the practice along with you. This is helpful if you need to look at your screen for visual guidance. (This is unlike my studio classes, where I tend to move around the studio as I’m teaching to provide guidance).
